Splashed in colours – some 600 students of Parijat Academy in Guwahati on Wednesday celebrated the festival of colours – Holi. Parijat Academy is a school for underprivileged children being run by education activist Uttam Teron. The sheer happiness and joy of the students were evident as they along with the rest of the world took part in the celebration of colour. For Uttam Teron running the school is not just a passion but his religion as he is shaping the future of many children; education is child’s birth right. Not just the students but visiting volunteers from Germany and Lithuania also took part in the celebrations. They were overwhelmed and bowled with the love they have received from the student community and their well wishers. It is not just a learning experience for the visiting volunteers but it has also given the students an opportunity to interact with them, who have been imparting education to this young children. The festival of colours has once again demonstrated happiness among millions, who are not fortunate. But there are friends who are willing to be part of their happiness. Frontier TV takes pride in wishing Parijat Academy and its students a Happy Holi. (A report by Albert Sangma) |
