Parijat Academy library

Parijat Academy Library Seeks Your Support

The Nitin Bezbaruah Sarangapani Library, created in fond memory by Nitin’s bereaved parents, was recently inaugurated on the campus of Parijat Academy in Pomahi, a few kilometers from the center of Guwahati. The library construction that started in January of this year is now finished and the library has started functioning. At present, it is a one room RCC structure with a few shelves and a few tables. The enthusiastic children of Parijat Academy are already benefiting from this library. In the words of Alpana Sarangapani, ÒIt’s a project that will open a small window to the world for the less privileged but the well-deserved children of the society.Presently, the Academy is trying to equip the library with books, puzzles, number blocks, maps, globes and reference materials. The ultimate goal is to provide good learning resources through the NBS Library for school’s children and also the community of Pomahi. If you are interested in helping to build this library, the Academy will be grateful. In particular, the library needs children’s books. It is important that the books are fairly new and not outdated. Such books will immediately appeal to the young readership, and/or will support the curriculum for students from KG-8th grade. It will be nice if Posoowa’s esteemed readers can send a few books to the NBS Library. The shipping cost through United State Post office should be less than $20. I was able to mail six books within that price. In India, there might be mailing option like book post.Parijat Academy’s address is Parijat Academy, Pomahi P.O. Garchuk, Guwahati—781 035, Assam, India. E-mail: parijatacademy03@ yahoo.com
